Adding your guests: one by one, by pasting a list, from your contacts

In Tov, a guest is a household: one person or one family, with a single link and a single reply for everyone. You never assume “guest + family”: you decide how many people count in each household. The “Your guests” page (the “Invite” step) offers three ways to add them, on an equal footing, in the “Add households” card.

1“One by one”

This is the most precise route. Only the household name is required (“Household name”). The rest can wait:

• “Phone (WhatsApp)”: essential for sending on WhatsApp. Write the number with the country code and a “+” (for example +1…): this is the safest format.
• “How many?”: the expected number of people, from 1 to 50, children included. The household can adjust this number when replying.
• “Invited to”: the moments this household is invited to, all checked by default. Remove the moments this household is not invited to.
• “Email and language” (collapsed section): the email address and “Language of their invitation” (by default, the language of the invitation).
• For a wedding, the household’s side (bride’s side, groom’s side, friends): it is used to filter your list. It is created the first time you use it.

2“Paste a list”

One line per household: name, phone, email, in any order. Tov recognises names and numbers. You can paste from WhatsApp, a spreadsheet, or the Notes app. A first row of headers (name, phone, email) is recognized and ignored. Up to 2000 households per paste.

If a household is already on the list (same phone number, or same email), you choose under “If a household is already on the list”: “Keep it as it is”, “Update it”, or “Stop everything”. A duplicate is recognized by the number or the email, never by the name.

3“My contacts”

“Google contacts”: Pick from your contacts, without retyping. You choose which contacts become households; the others are not kept. “My Tov address book” gathers the guests from your past celebrations. Households already on the list are spotted automatically.

4Afterward: find, correct, complete

• The “No phone” chip, next to the sides of your list, shows the households that have no number: they will not get a WhatsApp button. A badly entered number counts as “no phone”.
• Tap a household to open its record: name, Hebrew name, phone, email, notes, number of people expected, maximum, language, moments. There you also find “Copy their invitation” and “View as this household”.
• “Print” opens a printable list (name, phone, notes). It contains your guests’ private contact details: destroy it after the celebration.
• To remove a household, open its record (“Remove”). In “Select” mode, you can remove several at once.
