Confirming your email address: why sending is locked
WhatsApp sending waits for your email to be confirmed. What the lock blocks (and what stays open), how to get the link again, and what to do if it expired.

On the “Send” page, a message says: “One last thing: confirm your email address”. This lock affects just one thing: sending invitations on WhatsApp. Until your email address is confirmed, you can prepare everything (the event, the guests, the links); only sending has to wait.
Why? So your guests get an invitation that really comes from you.
What to do
Step 1
Find the email from Tov
Tov wrote to the address on your account. Check your junk or spam folder too (on Gmail, the Promotions tab).
Step 2
Tap the link
Then go back to the “Send” page: sending unlocks on its own, with no need to reload.
Step 3
No email? Ask for another one
Tap “Resend the email”. If several links have already gone out in a row, wait about fifteen minutes before asking for another.
Step 4
Wrong address?
Tap “Change address”: you land in your settings, where you can enter the right address. A confirmation email is sent to the new one.
If the link has expired
The confirmation link is valid for 24 hours. After that, ask for a new one with “Resend the email” from the “Send” page, or from your settings.
- The email sign-in link, for signing in without a password, is valid for 10 minutes and is only offered to existing accounts.
- The “forgot password” link is valid for 1 hour.
- An expired or already-used sign-in link shows a message inviting you to ask for a new one.
Right after you sign up, a screen already invites you to confirm your address without blocking you: you can start preparing your event while the email is on its way.
