Publish your invitation, or make it private

Publishing makes the invitation reachable by anyone with a link: it sends no message. What you need to publish, what guests see before, and how to go back.

A newly created invitation is a draft: “Private draft”. Publishing makes it reachable by anyone who has a link. Publishing sends no message: sending happens afterward, in “Send”.

What you need to publish

Four pieces of information are required: the names, the signature (“Signed by”), the date and time, and the venue (its name or address). If any are missing, the “Still missing:” line in the “Prepare” step lists them, and each one takes you to the field to complete. The publish button stays inactive as long as something is missing.

As long as the date isn’t a real one, the invitation is never visible to your guests, even if it’s published.

The steps

  1. Step 1

    Check the preview

In the “Prepare” step, “Your invitation” shows the live preview. Open it like a guest with “See it as a guest”.

  2. Step 2

    Publish

Tap “Publish the invitation”. The status changes to “Open to guests”. A celebration screen, “Your invitation is live”, then appears, with a direct shortcut to sending.

  3. Step 3

    Send

Go to “Send” to send each household its personal link.

Warning

For a wedding, if the date falls on Shabbat or Yom Tov, Tov asks for explicit confirmation (“I confirm this date and time”) and saves nothing until it’s given, publishing included.

Making the invitation private

A published invitation can go back to private with “Make the invitation private”. Links already sent then stop opening the invitation: your guests see a “not found” page until you publish it again. Your guests, their replies and your list aren’t deleted.

Info

Once the invitation is published, your changes are visible to anyone who opens the link: remember to proofread before you send.

If you can’t find the button

The publish button is at the bottom of the last “Prepare” step (“Your invitation”). From “Invite”, an action bar takes you there as long as the invitation isn’t online.
