Customize your invitation

9 min read Updated on 2026-03-23

Make your invitation a unique creation that perfectly reflects the spirit of your event. Discover all the customization options.

Choose a theme

The theme is the visual foundation of your invitation. It defines the graphic style, fonts, animations and overall mood of your creation. Tov.events currently offers two carefully designed themes:

  • Classic (free) — a clean and elegant theme that adapts to all event types. It offers multiple color palettes and supports all customization options, including the cover image and monogram.
  • Marrakech — Bandana Blue Edition (premium) — an immersive theme with deep blue and gold tones, oriental patterns, smooth animations and refined typography. Ideal for festive events and celebrations meant to be memorable.

To change themes, go to your event editor and open the "Theme" section. You can preview each option before confirming your choice. Changing themes does not alter the content of your invitation (text, date, venue, guests) — only the visual appearance changes.

Color palettes

Each theme offers a selection of harmonious color palettes designed by professionals to ensure a beautiful and readable result. The palettes define the background, text, button and decorative element colors.

To change your invitation's color palette:

  • Open your event editor.
  • Go to the "Theme" section.
  • Browse the available palettes and click the one you like.
  • The preview updates instantly so you can see the result in real time.

Each palette has been designed to offer optimal contrast between text and background, ensuring comfortable reading on all devices, including mobile phones.

Cover image

The cover image (or "hero image") is the large image displayed at the top of your invitation. It's often the first thing your guests will see — it sets the tone for your event.

To add or change your cover image:

  • In the editor, open the "Cover image" section.
  • Click "Choose a file" or drag and drop your image.
  • The image is automatically resized and optimized for fast loading.

You can use a personal photo (the couple, the venue, the family) or a decorative image related to your theme. The cover image is available for themes that support this feature (like the Classic theme).

Tip For the best result, use a high-resolution image in landscape (horizontal) format. The recommended minimum dimensions are 1200×600 pixels.

Edit the invitation text

The text content of your invitation is what touches your guests' hearts. Tov.events lets you easily customize every text element:

  • Event title — the name of your celebration, displayed prominently.
  • Welcome message — a warm text to invite your loved ones.
  • Practical details — date, time, venue and any useful information for your guests.

Need inspiration? Our AI assistant can help you write an elegant text tailored to the tone you want (formal, festive, casual, understated). It can also translate your invitation into the 4 available languages (French, English, Hebrew, Spanish) for multicultural events.

Every change is saved automatically and instantly visible in the live preview of your invitation.

Display options

Tov.events offers many display options to enrich your invitation and provide a complete experience for your guests. Enable or disable each option as needed:

  • Countdown — display a dynamic countdown to the big day to build excitement.
  • Dress code — specify a dress code (formal attire, casual, color theme, etc.).
  • Gift registry — add a link to your gift registry or a personalized message.
  • Items to bring — ask guests to bring something (dessert, drinks, etc.).
  • Waze navigation — a button to open directions directly in Waze.
  • Google Calendar — let your guests add the event to their calendar with one click.
  • Monogram / Logo — add an elegant monogram (couple's initials) or upload your own logo, with several styles available (elegant, script, modern).
  • Secondary venue — add a second location if your event takes place at two sites (ceremony + reception, for example).

All these options can be found in your event editor, in the dedicated sections. Each option can be enabled or disabled independently.

Preview before publishing

Before publishing and sending your invitation, it's essential to preview it to make sure everything looks perfect. The Tov.events editor offers a live preview that updates in real time with every change.

The preview shows you exactly what your guests will see:

  • The full visual rendering with your theme and color palette.
  • The cover image, monogram and all graphic elements.
  • The text, date, venue and all practical information.
  • The RSVP form as it will appear to your guests.

Take the time to check your invitation on both mobile and desktop — most of your guests will view it on their phone. All Tov.events invitations are fully responsive and automatically adapt to every screen size.

Tip Send the invitation to yourself via WhatsApp to see exactly what your guests will receive, including the link preview in the conversation.

Features to enable

In your event Settings, you can enable or disable additional features based on your needs:

  • Gifts — enable gift tracking with amounts and multiple currencies.
  • Budget — track expenses by category, record payments and see the balance in real time.
  • Reminders — enable shortcuts to create reminder campaigns for guests who haven't responded.
  • Simplified RSVP — offer an ultra-simple form with 2 big buttons for guests who are less comfortable with technology.

These options appear in the "Features" section of the settings. Enable only what you need — each feature adds a dedicated tab or page to your event space.

Date display

Tov.events offers three date display modes on your invitation, configurable in the event editor:

  • International — the date in standard format (e.g. June 15, 2026).
  • Hebrew — the date according to the Hebrew calendar (e.g. כ''ב סיוון תשפ''ו).
  • Both — displays both formats side by side, ideal for community events.

Choose the mode that best suits your audience. For Jewish events, the "both" mode is the most common and lets all your guests easily find the date.

בס''ד mention

For religious events, you can display the בס''ד ("With God's help") mention at the top of your invitation. This option is found in the event editor, under the "Display" section.

When enabled, the mention appears discreetly in the top right corner of the invitation, following tradition. It is a detail appreciated by many families for religious celebrations such as Bar/Bat Mitzvah, weddings and Brit Milah.
